Words from Fidah

Dear French Horn Section Members,

First and foremost, i would like to thank all of you for making my stay in this section worthwhile. I have learnt a lot of things in this section not only from Mr Lim but from you guys as well. You guys taught me how to think, how to talk, how to compromise and most importantly.. you guys makes me realise how importance unity is. I had never thought that i am be able to graduate from the band knowing that i have a section who means like a family to me. I used to think that i am graduating with juniors and peers that seems to care less about playing instrument and all the negative. But somehow, things doesn't always turns out the way we think. and now, i'm graduating from this band with wonderful peers and incredible juniors. What more can i ask for?

My fellow batch. Have we ever thought that we could be the mamas of the section? NEVER.. it's much a post that we are given by the juniors. Namely me, the big mama, Raudhah, mama lemon, Nadhira, Mama Meranda, Raihan, LiL Mama and Mala, Hippie Mama.. and i suppose that the juniors wants to call Nanny? I hope not.. coz we are only like 16?! Yea.. we are young.. i know that.. =) i never had thought that we are in this together.. especially when Mala and Nad wanted to quit during the sec 2 year.. but somehow.. they stayed on. which is much pleasant for me. and yes.. i remember that we took like wad 3 months? to get Bb major done? and for the rest of the scales? and sit ard during combine collecting dust coz we are unable to play Love Me Tender and ode to joy? yea.. remembered that. and our "fave" piece was centuria? haha.. can say that we hate the piece because of our soli? haha.. but nah.. we have grown up.. haha.. all the best for our Os and Ns Level.. achieve high.. and study hard.. =)

So off we go and left the juniors behind. No sweat. You guys can survive without us! i mean like yea.. the responsibilty is now on you.. doesn't mean Tiffany is the SL, the 3 of you can't help her? she's a librarian and the next thing you know. .she's gonna have white hair due to STRESS.. bet that's her favourite word from now on. I feel that you guys need to bond with sec 1s like how we all bonded. yes.. they may seems hyper and stuff.. but i find that they are a little lonely. talk to them.. senior to junior way.. approach them if you think there's a need to talk to them when they are unhappy or seems depressed about it. this isn't jz the work that is only be done by Tiffany.. but to Yvonne, Clements, Khaliesa and Jovin as well.. the people in front need not be Tiffany or Yvonne jz because they are SL and ASL respectively.. and since both are librarian comittee.. Clements, Jovin.. can come up in front to conduct.. and teach. and yea.. this kindda important: if you guys receive any criticism.. Ignore them! just treat that they are jealous of all you! i mean seriously.. why waste your time arguing/fighting back? it will no use. but you guys can treat it like a weakness or something.. do about it to improve.. yea.? lesson learnt.. If anyone of you (yes including u, the sec 1s) encountered any problems be it playing the horn or anything else.. don't be AFRAID to approach Mr Lim or the teachers.. don't worry. they wont bite.

there's many i things i wished to do in this section but sadly, i can't. maybe because i realised it too late.. and yea. .time constrain too.. the Quintets.. The sec 3s/sec2 quintet. since the sec 4 batch aren't in band anymore.. we would like to hear you play the songs!! i mean.. play as in Performing.. maybe not to the whole band.. but at least to us? coz that's something i wanna do with the section. .but are unable to.. so Mr Lim.. if you are reading this.. drill the sec 3s and sec 2 about it.. i badly want to hear them play!! maybe during POP ?? please.. haha..

Since this is a Horn Blog, yes.. i would like to take an advantage of this.. Regent Horn Section.. arhh.. even though you guys are at the other end of Singapore and i'm on the other side.. i love you guys too! yes... Yvonne Ong.. especially you.. i learnt some stuff from you guys too.. and the memories during the KL trip will forever be in me.. all the name calling like nenek and stuff.. arrhh.. memories.. and all the screams and shouts we always do when we meet.. you guys must also jia yo! ok? together we can succeed.. =)) and hey.. i remembered something... we are like suppose to have horn section BBQ.. i think it was Mr Lim's idea.. can't remember who's idea was it.. but yea.. im thinking about it.. mayb in june ar? see first on how free all of us are.. then can invite other horn players from other school bands... =) wee..

Before i end my long speech/ letter.. once again.. yes.. i would like to thank all of you! and i just love each and everyone of you. Don't cry because it's over.. but smile because it has happen.. Practise hard my dear juniors. Continue to bring the yourself and the section to another level. Giving up is a no no.. strive for the best.. Also, you guys will have lots of fun in band and other activities.. but remember... studies is important too.. So.. Study hard, work hard.. yea? me and the rest of the mamas will be here supporting you guys! will be back in band once in awhile to see how you guys are doing.. and yes.. i will be waiting to hear my beautiful and er handsome sec 3s and sec 2 juniors playing the quintet songs.. i want to hear you guys play.. badly.. =) i will pop in the blog once awhile to help you guys update.. which i bet... it will be update-less .. update la. .so that i know what's going on during band and sectional.. ok?
